Pink birthday session.

Rockin pink converse is not easy, but here we have Gabi having a blast at her birthday session. Her mom was thrilled to have good weather finally after weeks of waiting and I was surprised to see how well she coordinated her outfit to match my suggestions. This is as girlie as a mom would dream and im glad I was able to deliver these images for her.

Daysleeper live at Churchill’s

live performance photography is a huge challenge in indie venues. The lighting is dim, and makes still captures almost a hit or miss situation. A common technique is to add flashes either for fill or to accent the performance. Problem is that being such an intimate setting any kind of addition to the scene will surely be noticed by everyone. This particular image was produced with ambient light or the lack there off.

By JENNA FARMER

With Art Basel, Miami’s premier art show, just around the corner, Miami Springs gallery owner Humberto Busto staged a more modest show last week. The photography exhibit at Busto’s Color My Gallery, though smaller in scale, drew rave reviews.

I’m doing more and more portrait work using natural light and a reflector. Its rewarding to use so little equipment to produce images parents love. This little girl really made me laugh during the shoot. I had to bribe her with toys though, otherwise she would have taken my camera.

Q engaged

Part of an an engagement session for the Quinones. This shoot was extremely fast paced in two locations with two lighting setups. One thing that did come up is that I prefer to light and pose people in a strong manner. For this part of the shoot I played heavily with strong shadows and was happy with the results. I know that not all my clients would look for this mood in their engagement pictures, but I love being able to divert from the traditional.

Halloween Magic

This ended up being a shoot for the haunted house flyer put on by The Theater Institute of South Florida. Working on location is always fun, throw in a portable strobe an over the top magician like character and you get this very unique feel to an otherwise uninteresting location.

Newborn Ramirez

This is from a shoot for the Ramirez family. Newborns always need pictures and I was thrilled to do it. I have a small studio setup in my home for shoots like this. In a perfect world Id have my own space with ready props and assistants. Children photography is a new field for me and I find it challenging in a great way.

Adopting a pup was easy and the pound really just wants you to have them. There are so many positive things that have come from saving this guys life and now were moving on to basic training so he can become a well adjusted gentleman. If you have the means and patience to take on a challenge. Save a dogs life today.
